14:00 - 17:00 Workshop 1 - ICD-O-4 – Coding and registration
ICD-O-4, the fourth edition of the ICD-O classification where morphology structure contains 5-digit codes, in which the fifth digit can be “0” or have other values (including alphanumeric), if more specific codes are needed. In this workshop, invited speakers will go over the possibilities and challenges of implementing ICD-O-4 in cancer registration. The session will conclude with discussions.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in cancer registration holds substantial potential to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and comprehensiveness of data collection within cancer registries. Despite certain challenges associated with its adoption, the use of AI could significantly improve the quality of cancer data, ultimately advancing public health initiatives and optimizing patient care.
In this workshop, invited speakers will share their experiences with the application of AI in cancer registration. The session will conclude with a plenary discussion, providing an opportunity to exchange insights, address challenges, and explore future directions.
